worship LYRICS

Glorious Day

Verse 1

I was buried beneath my shame
Who could carry that kind of weight
It was my tomb 'til I met You

Verse 2

I was breathing but not alive
All my failures I tried to hide
It was my tomb 'til I met You

('Cause when) You called my name (and)
I ran out of that grave
Out of the darkness into Your glorious day
You called my name (and) I ran out of that grave
Out of the darkness into Your glorious day

Verse 3

Now Your mercy has saved my soul
Now Your freedom is all that I know
The old made new Jesus when I met You

I needed rescue my sin was heavy
But chains break at the weight of Your glory
I needed shelter I was an orphan
Now You call me a citizen of Heaven
When I was broken You were my healing
Now Your love is the air that I'm breathing
I have a future my eyes are open

Do It Again

Verse 1

Walking around these walls
I thought by now they'd fall
But you have never failed me yet
Waiting for change to come
Knowing the battle's won
For you have never failed me yet

Your promise still stands
Great is your faithfulness
I'm still in your hands
This is my confidence
You've never failed me yet

Verse 2

I know the night won't last
Your word will come to pass
My heart will sing your praise again
Jesus you're still enough
Keep me within your love
My heart will sing your praise again

I've seen you move
You move the mountains
And I believe
I'll see you do it again
You made a way
Where there was no way
And I believe
I'll see you do it again

You Hold It All Together

Verse 1

You come at the right time
When I least expect it never behind
So why would I be surprised
When You deliver every time

On mountaintops
You stay the same
In valleys low
You never change

And I believe that I will see
The goodness of the Lord
I'm confident as seasons change
Your faithfulness remains

Verse 2

You go You go before me
To prepare a blessing You make a way
It's more than I could imagine
More than I can fathom
Or comprehend

God of my present
God of my future
You write my story
You hold it all together

Unstoppable UNITY

Unstoppable - Part 2 of 4

Pastor Alex Barrett

May 16, 2021

Characteristics of the Early Church…

  • Unity led to expansion and growth.

Acts 2:41-47

Those who accepted his message were baptized, and about three thousand were added to their number that day. They devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching and to the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer. Everyone was filled with awe, and many wonders and miraculous signs were done by the apostles. All the believers were together and had everything in common. Selling their possessions and goods, they gave to anyone as he had need. Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved. NIV

  • Unity led to generosity and grace.

Acts 4:32-35

All the believers were one in heart and mind. No one claimed that any of his possessions was his own, but they shared everything they had. With great power the apostles continued to testify to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus, and much grace was upon them all. There were no needy persons among them. For from time to time those who owned lands or houses sold them, brought the money from the sales and put it at the apostles' feet, and it was distributed to anyone as he had need. NIV

The Early church was…

  1. Inclusive (2:41, 47)

  1. Devoted to…

    • Apostle’s teaching  (2:42)

    • Fellowship (2:42)

    • Worship (2:42)

    • Prayer (2:42)

    • Witness (4:33)

  1. Unified (2:44; 4:32)

  1. Generous (2:45; 4:34-35)

Why would they be devoted to unity like this?

Within this new unstoppable church they experienced life change...together!

Acts 2:43

“Everyone was filled with awe…”

Awe = phŏbŏs: a sense of reverence

Awe always leads to action.
